This is a post for all fashion lovers who want to make a difference around them. We don’t have to wait for brands to change and be more sustainable. The whole discourse of sustainable fashion industry - and the resulting policies - offers only a limited view of what the fashion system is and how it can/should change.

Too often we hear that the best way out of the current crisis of overconsumption is to simply BUY LESS. And while it is true, this imperative places responsibility squarely on consumers - which, IMHO, we already have a load of on our shoulders.

In this post, I make a point that it does not have to be all on consumers or brands. There is a critical area full of potential for CITIES to make a difference at a local level by building circular sufficient textile ecosystems. And this area is almost entirely overlooked by existing policies.

To all of you, passionate change makers, who want to “cultivate your own garden”.
